Elizabeth Cady Stanton Hometown Association
Getting Involved with the Community

Incorporated in June 2008, the Elizabeth Cady Stanton Hometown Association seeks to honor her legacy through community service and sponsoring educational events. Simply put, our organization’s three main goals are:

One, that everyone who grows up in Fulton County learns about the work of
  Elizabeth Cady Stanton,
Two, that this organization continue to serve women in a variety of capacities,
just as Elizabeth did throughout her life; and
Three, that Johnstown will become known as the birthplace of women’s equality.

Our ultimate goal is to create an information center in Johnstown, complete with artifacts, interactive exhibits and meeting space. It would be staffed and open regularly for residents and tourists visiting the rich heritage sites here in the Mohawk Valley at the “Gateway to the Adirondacks” and feature the contribution to history of Johnstown’s most renowned and revered daughter, Elizabeth Cady Stanton.
